John focuses primarily on commercial litigation, commercial transactions, and general corporate matters. He is licensed in both Colorado and Georgia and is admitted to practice in the state and federal courts in both states. With over 25 years of experience, John has handled a broad array of commercial litigation matters, including business torts, breach of contract matters, partnership conflicts, restrictive covenants, IP disputes, real estate, and bankruptcy related issues.
After John relocated from Atlanta to Denver in 2013, he served as in-house counsel for two start-up energy companies before returning to private practice. In addition to his position at Nesbitt, John is also the Managing Partner of Patteson, LLP.
John earned his Law and Master of Business Administration degrees (JD/MBA) from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and his Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from the University of North Carolina.
